True To This - The Volcom Story
The fact that Volcom has always been somewhat different from other brands can also be seen in the history of its origins. During a snowboarding trip in 1991, Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall came up with the idea to create the Volcom brand and unite skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing under one roof for the first time. At that time, the combination of these three disciplines was still considered rebellious, and was reflected in their motto at the time: "Youth Against Establishment!".
The brand has since grown up a bit, but the characteristic playfulness of details has remained the same. Volcom now operates under the motto "True to This", which fits very well. There's much more behind the Californian brand than just an eye-catching quartz stone.
