ACE Trucks – inspired by Independent
The development of skateboard trucks is an ever evolving process, but sometimes you find a truck where almost everything fits. That's what it must have been like for Joey Tershay when he decided to found his own truck brand, ACE Trucks, in 2007. The classic Independent Stage 3 truck served as a template, giving ACE their characteristic look.
Known for its dynamic steering response, the Indy Stage 3 truck was the ideal template to bring to life Tershay's vision of the perfect skate truck. Nevertheless, ACE applied some optical and technical changes to make ACE skateboard trucks number 1 in terms of turning feel and maneuverability. To achieve this, for example, the kingpin was placed deeper in the hanger, and the arrangement of the hanger and baseplate was optimized.
The difference between AF1 & Classic - the ACE trucks at a glance
The main difference between the ACE AF1 and the ACE Classic is the width of the axle. The axle widths of the AF1 models have been matched to the most common deck widths. Therefore, the AF1 44 truck fits 8.25″ decks perfectly, while the AF1 55 optimally matches 8.5″ decks. Comparable ACE Classic models each have a slightly wider axle. ACE Low trucks are identical in width to the Classic models.
To help you choose your new ACE trucks, we've put together a table with all the measurements and information about the ACE trucks in our shop - including the deck widths we recommend. If you want to make it easy for yourself, you can use our Skateboard Configurator to equip your new setup with the appropriate ACE trucks.

There are even more innovations in the AF1 trucks from ACE Trucks MFG. In addition to an update of the material, a further developed baseplate, and revised bushings, AF1 trucks come with an additional rethreading nut. So you can save defective axle threads with a skate tool in no time - game changer!
Broadly positioned - the ACE Trucks Skate Team
ACE Trucks' strong point is simply quality. They've been able to slowly but surely build up a considerable team since 2007, which hosts some of the most famous names in skateboarding.
Besides about 40 other team riders, pros like Brian Anderson, Oskar Rozenberg, Ronnie Sandoval, Harry Lintell, Brian Delatorre, Leo Baker, Jacopo Carozzi, Mike Arnold as well as Gou Miyagi are riding ACE trucks. There's no question that Tershay's concept has taken off and that these skateboard trucks with the iconic round hanger are becoming more and more popular.
