These wheels are excellent for rough streets – protecting your knees significantly more than the bones 97a – whilst not being overly bouncy like bones 93a's. The 95a sidecuts also slide better than the 95a widecuts, That said, while I enjoyed riding them for a while, I did notice they have their limits in slideability, so I moved back to Bones 97a. I still use these wheels on my rain setup, because they are nice and grippy on humid asphalt/pavements (sliding becomes super fun, yet controlled) and responsive. In this particular category (comfortable yet slideable and responsive), I'd say spitfire 93d soft sliders are superior though, because the spitfires slide way better. Nevertheless, I'd especially recommend these wheels to beginners because they are quite forgiving (although learning to powerslide/revert may be a bit difficult).
I used to ride Spitfire Formula Four, but switched to Bones because the geometry suits me better — narrower wheels, closer to a classic shape. This shape turned out to be perfect for me. They’re narrow enough, roll great, and lock onto rails and ledges really well without adding extra resistance on blunt slides. As for the X-Formula, I honestly didn’t feel much difference compared to Formula Four. They roll just as well, are very durable, grip when you need them to, and slide when you want them to.
I loved this wheels the first time I took them to the streets, but once I stepped into the skatepark I missed my spitfires :/
