I had already Ace hollow inverteds and absolutely adored them so I wanted to try the lows. The lows are great, exactly as expected: very surfy (watch out, riders who don't like loose trucks), yet snappy, and being a bit lower they feel a bit more techy than the hollow inverteds. I love these trucks for crusty streets as the turnability really allows for dodging all the holes, stones puddles and loose tiles. I personally prefer these over the hollow inverteds because of being lower, but also because of the normal kingpin; I have absolutely no idea with the inverted kingpins how tight I run them, and with these I can actually see the threads, which gives me a bit more of a feeling if both trucks are equally tight. I run them with hard bushings though, and a big down side is that the Ace hard bushings are super hard to find for these trucks. Overall, ace lows are pretty much on par with Slappy low profiles. More specifically, I dislike that it's hard to find fitting replacement bushings for Ace. Slappy, on the other hand, fits pretty much all replacement bushings. Depending on the wheelbase of my deck, I sometimes prefer Ace lows because they lower the effective wheelbase – thus keeping my pop similar if I end up riding a deck with a slightly longer wheelbase.
Amazing trucks! My new No 1 choice. Feels almost the same like Indy, but in better quality. In Indy the hanger was loose in Pivot Cup, but in ACE it's fit absolutely perfect. I stopped adjusting the trucks during the session and my skateboard almost always rides straight. Highly recommend! P.S. The low size is the good option for me. I ride on 54mm + 3mm shock pads. It feels absolutely comfortable.
Amazing trucks, great pinch on grinds and manuals. Ace Hard bushings and sub 51mm wheels are a must to avoid wheel bite for bigger skaters (I’m 184cm/85kg). Just buy them already.
