Rayne Longboards one of the longboard brands that one associates with maximum quality. That’s exactly what this Canada-based longboard brand has its sights set on. Since its inception in 2004, the company has been producing longboards and skateboards that satisfy the most demanding requirements - whether it's in design or processing. So you can be sure of one thing: Rayne Boards from Canada will meet your expectations.
Bamboo as both material and philosophy
Boards made by Rayne consist of bamboo as base material and are reinforced depending on the desired features. The advantage of bamboo as a board material is obvious: It grows incredibly fast, has outstanding properties in terms of strength, flexibility and durability and it absorbs almost no water, should it get wet.
Bamboo is actually a type of grass and is one of the fastest-growing plants on the planet. Some species can even grow up to one metre a day. For the eco-friendly longboard buyer, this means that you can make your purchase with a clear conscience because Rayne Longboards relies on a plentiful supply of raw materials. In addition, decks made of bamboo are light, extremely durable and unrivalled in terms of flex as compared to maple decks.
Rayne’s elaborate board constructions
For the material properties required on a longboard, Rayne boards are additionally reinforced with fibreglass. This mix provides decks that, depending on the amount of fibreglass, can have a pleasant flex for cruising and carving, or be almost flex-free for downhill and freeriding with boards that don’t warp in the longitudinal direction. Only in this way can you construct such unusual decks. Rayne’s K.I.S.S. construction combines a bamboo core with two maple veneers on the top and bottom in place of fibreglass for a unique pop and flex.
Rayne Longboards - Made in Canada
In times of global production, it is remarkable that Rayne boards are still manufactured and developed exclusively in Canada. In order to give the customer exactly the quality that the guys and girls of Rayne expect for their own boards, the entire production remains right where the masterminds behind the design are situated. This way, any errors or problems in the manufacturing process can be detected and corrected immediately. In addition, this is the basis for testing and advancing innovations and experiments with regard to the shapes and materials of the longboards. So you can be sure that each of the boards in our skatedeluxe Rayne Brand Shop has been manufactured, modified and quality-tested in northern Vancouver before it’s delivered to your home.
Rayne's innovative technologies and features
Especially in the field of freeriding and downhill, Rayne has made a name for itself with its leading-edge constructions. The use of bamboo and fibreglass also allows the decks to be pressed into more complex shapes, giving the user an even better grip on the board. Who exactly invented what we know today as wheel well flares and fenders is hard to say, but the Rayne Vandal longboard deck was definitely one of the pioneers of this feature and has significantly influenced the development of modern longboards. Today, you'll find a wide range of features to make your life easier: Exceptional, progressive concave shapes, the W-concave, wheel well flares and micro drops are just a few examples of the extras that make Rayne longboards really cling to your feet. Last but certainly not least, the inclined cruiser, carver and dancer from Rayne also have perfectly rideable wheels and you can fully enjoy the processing quality of the decks.
Tattooed graphics to last an eternity with a natural finish
Of course, performance is the most important factor of a longboard. All the parts simply have to function. But if performance and style are combined, then all the better! Unfortunately, most graphics on skateboards and longboards don’t last very long. Rayne Longboards protects the deck graphics in a very special way. The artwork is not printed as per usual, rather it’s printed under a layer of fibreglass and epoxy resin and is thus virtually indestructible. Rayne Longboards is game for just about anything. And they do it well!
