Looking at the biography of Paul Rodriguez, it was only a matter of time before the Californian launched his very own brand. As one of the most successful skateboarders, he managed to gain notoriety beyond the skate scene and is on top of the contest scene. But his street parts and edits never fail to impress as well.

A milestone in P-Rod's career was his part in Transworld's "In Bloom" video in 2002. Shortly thereafter, he became Pro on Plan B and won a silver medal at the X-Games. Since 2005, Paul Rodriguez has been on board at Nike SB. A special feature of P-Rod's skating is the ease with which he does switch tricks. There is no question that there is someone behind Primitive who has skateboarding in his blood and it's evident to see in the brand's products.

From the Primitive store to Primitive skateboarding

Although the founding of Primitive was a surprise, Paul Rodriguez had already laid the foundation in 2008. Alongside Heath Brinkley, Andy Netkin, Jay Partow and Jubal Jones, he opened the Primitive store in Encino, California.

As you can see, in the end, the catchy name was used for the brand concept as well. But that's not P-Rod's only business. Together with Joey Brezinski, he also successfully operates Andale Bearings.
