The shoe was too tight the first time I tried it on. I was really starting to have my doubts. Going half a size larger than usual would probably have made it easier to get into. I had to stretch the shoe mechanically overnight and try out different insoles. After my first skating session, my feet hurt a lot. But now they’re fitting better and better. I still have to make some compromises—wear thin socks, or maybe adjust the insoles. On the other hand, the shoe gives me a secure feeling, especially around the ankle. Better than with my usual Vans shoes. Take the sizing advice seriously and be patient while breaking them in. They’re tight and really uncomfortable at first, but they’ll stretch out! I ultimately decided to keep them and am happy with them. During today’s session, the shoes were comfortable. No pain. I actually preferred them to my Vans when skating—in a direct comparison. They’re just way cooler.
