Since the 100A wheels I’d just bought were too hard—I could feel it right in my joints—I needed new wheels. The hardness feels good, but after about eight sessions at the skatepark and indoor rink, the wheels are showing quite significant signs of wear at the outer transition from the tread to the curve. In addition, the ball bearings developed play in the wheel body after a very short time, so that when the wheels are tightened securely, I can wiggle them back and forth. Maybe it’s because I haven’t skated in a while and I’m not landing my tricks as “smoothly” as I used to, but I’ve never had this happen before. Even my old wheels (about 20 years old) are still tight.
