Polar Skate Co. - a skate brand from Sweden conquers the skateboard world
Hardly any brand has been as influential in recent years as Polar Skate Co.. Pontus Alv's brand has significantly shaped skateboarding as we know it today. Unusual deck graphics, innovative shapes and stylish apparel make Polar Skateboards one of the most interesting and sought-after brands around.
Polar Skate Co. - Skateboard Decks with vision
If you are looking for innovative skateboard decks, then you will definitely find them at Polar Skate Co.. The shapes of Polar's skateboard decks are constantly evolving. From classic popsicles to rediscovered old-school shapes, everything is possible with Polar Skate Decks. Every season Polar delivers a wide range of different decks.
Inspired by skateboarding's history - the shapes of Polar decks
In addition to a wide range of Popsicle decks, Polar also offers shaped decks. Especially popular are the Surf Shape Decks with "wheel wells" that even tighter turns are possible. The surf decks from Polar are usually a little wider, and have a more pointed nose and a straighter tail than normal popsicle decks.
The P2 and P9 decks from Polar are slightly shaped and especially the P2 deck from Polar evokes the street decks' style from the early 90s. The P2 shape is characterized mainly by the large and wide nose. Decks with the P9 shape from Polar are a mixture of surf and popsicle shapes. The nose and tail are slightly narrower than the middle of the deck.
If you like extra wide decks, then the Dane 1 Special Shape from Polar Skateboards is just right for you. The Dane 1 is strongly reminiscent of old-school shapes from the 80s and is often wider than 9.5″.
The 1991 shape of Polar is oriented, as the name suggests, on street decks from the early 90s. Here, the combination of wide nose and the slightly narrower tapered tail captivates. For street skating clearly a good choice! No matter which shape you are interested in, the current Polar skateboard decks you can always quickly and easily buy online at skatedeluxe.
Unique & personal - The deck designs from Polar
Polar skateboards stand out especially because of the designs. Pontus Alv is the driving force behind the graphics and regularly immortalizes himself on Polar skateboards with his personal and very distinctive drawing style. In addition to comic-influenced graphics, collages are also often used.
Collaborations with artists as much as self-designed designs by the team riders. The deck designs of Polar Skate Co. are varied, partly provocative and socially critical, but the humour never comes too short. Decks from the current collection of Polar Skate Co. you simply order online at skatedeluxe skateshop.
Polar Skate Co. - distinctive apparel
The clothing of Polar Skateboards has been one of the most influential in the scene for years and also enjoys great popularity away from it. The cuts and motifs strongly reminiscent of the 90s have significantly shaped the scene and surprises again and again.
The bigger the better - jeans and chinos from Polar
Products from Polar Skate Co. always stand out a bit. Wide baggy pants like the Polar Skate Co. Big Boy, 90s Jeans or the 93 Jeans are among the most popular skate pants.
The Big Boy from Polar Skateboards is a classic baggy pant and is strongly reminiscent of the beginnings of street skating. Here you are guaranteed a lot of freedom of movement and thanks to the robust material, the Big Boy will accompany you through many sessions.
The 93 Denim & Cord Jeans have a semi-baggy fit and are made of heavy material, being virtually the perfect skate pants. If you prefer a regular fit, the 90s Denim Pant is the perfect choice.
If you like it light and airy, then the Surf Pant from Polar is just right for you. A wide-cut chino made of durable material, elastic waistband and plenty of freedom of movement. Pants are always a particularly tricky thing for skaters, but with the available selection, Pontus Alv has managed a small stroke of genius.
Influenced by the north - hoodies and jackets from Polar Skate Co.
The brand from Sweden knows how cold the winter can get. Accordingly, Polar Skate Co. offers jackets, zip sweaters, hoodies and transitional jackets, so that you don't have to do without the typical 90s style in the cold season. For the really cold days, Polar provides you with their popular puffer jackets. So you can still push through the streets in winter without worrying.
Of course, Polar offers you a wide selection of T-shirts and longsleeves with logo prints, back prints or subtle embroidery. The brand around Pontus Alv does not stop at more fashionable outings like turtle-neck sweatshirts. Hoodies and sweatshirts from Polar Skate Co. are mostly made of a heavier material and will get you well through the colder days. Before buying your Polar Skate Co. clothing, it's best to refer to the size charts, as the products usually run a little larger.
In addition, as one of the leading European skate brands, Polar is committed to producing its products as far as possible in Europe. Thus, almost all Polar clothes bear the label "Made in Europe".
No Complies & Wallrides | The birth of Polar Skateboard Co.
Behind Polar Skateboards is none other than Pontus Alv. After his time with Mad Circle and Cliché, for which he travelled all over the world, Pontus Alv retired to his hometown of Malmö in Sweden in 2003.
There, the skateboarder also became the filmmaker Pontus Alv. With his films "Strongest of the Strange" and "In Search of the Miraculous" he directly created two classics and was able to establish himself in the skateboard film scene.
From 2011, the multi-talent put all his energy into the foundation of Polar Skateboards. Thanks to the independent approach and the two videos "The Polar Skate Co. Promo" and "No Complies & Wallrides+shuvits", the popularity of Polar Skate Co. increased quickly and the brand became known far beyond the borders of Sweden. Also following videos like "I like it here inside my mind. "Don't wake me this time." or "We blew It At Some Point" are in no way inferior to their predecessors.
The way of skating shown in the films also had a massive influence on the entire skate scene and inspired many - whether in the choice of tricks or in building their own DIY spots. Pontus Alv is still far from the end of his dreams and for a few years now he has been releasing skate shoes under the name Last Resort AB which can definitely compete with the big companies.
From Denmark to NYC - the Polar Skate Team
Pontus Alv also shows his sense of individuality in the composition of the Polar Skate Co. team: Aaron Herrington, Dane Brady, Jamie Platt, Emile Laurent, Nick Boserio, Paul Grund, Roman Gonzales, Shin Sanbongi, Andrew Wilson and the European Skater of The Year 2018: Oskar "Oski" Rozenberg.
The team is bursting with creativity and individualism, which is entirely in the spirit of the brand and Polar boss Pontus Alv. Because here, for skating as well as for the products, "creativity trumps technology." A certain DIY attitude is just as important for the aesthetics of the brand as the own style of each individual rider.
In this sense: "Inspire others to inspire themselves."
